Interjurisdictional Telepsychology Practice

Interjurisdictional Telepsychology Practice: Clinical, Ethical and Legal Considerations in Infertility Consultation and Counseling Workshop

Friday, April 4, 2025
1:30 pm - 4:45 pm, EDT
Doubletree Philadelphia City Center

Cost:  $150.00, will increase to $175.00 after March 18th.*

Family building increasingly involves intended parents, gamete donors, and gestational surrogates from different states. Psychologists and mental health professionals routinely receive requests to provide reproductive consultation and counseling services in states other than the one in which they are licensed. Psychologists who wish to provide services to individuals or couples across 42 participating states are able to apply to have the Authority for Practice of Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) through the PSYPACT Commission. This applied workshop will review general ethical and legal issues related to interjurisdictional telepsychology practice as well as their implications for cross state infertility consultation and counseling.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify ethical and legal issues involved when providing psychological services across jurisdictional borders.
  • Describe what PSYPACT is and what it allows psychologists to do through telepsychology services.
  • Summarize clinical, ethical and legal considerations in interjurisdictional telepsychology infertility consultation and counseling services.

This afternoon’s educational curriculum on telepsychology approaches to infertility assessment, consultation and counseling meets PSYPACT’s requirements for annual continuing education on telepsychology and interjurisdictional practice. Three (3) continuing educational credits are offered.
