Shelby Alsup, PsyD completed graduate training at the University of Southern California (USC) in marriage and family therapy and doctoral studies at Pacific University in Oregon. During her doctoral pursuits, she trained at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in pediatric, perinatal, and fertility clinics. Her dissertation examined the effects of stress during the perinatal period on maternal psychological health and maternal-fetal/infant attachment - an area of interest that ultimately harmonized her complimentary skillset at the intersection of early childhood mental health and reproductive events. While completing her pre-doctoral internship at Duke University School of Medicine, Dr. Alsup continued her training in women's health clinics, including at Duke's Fertility Clinic. Currently, she works in-house at Spring Fertility helping to develop the psychology program and provide support to patients and staff. Dr. Alsup is trained in supporting the wide-ranging emotional aspects of reproductive medicine and has specialized training in all aspects of third-party reproduction including gamete donation, gestational carrier arrangements, and treatment-related issues. The intersection of her training in early child development and reproductive health has uniquely positioned her interests in supporting the needs of the donor conceived community through education and confidence building with recipient parents.
