in Reproductive Workshop

Saturday, April 5, 2025
9:00 am - 4:00 pm, EDT
Doubletree Philadelphia City Center,  Aria A&B - 3rd floor

Cost:  $275.00, will increase to $325.00 after March 15th.*

This workshop offers a basic introduction to the use and interpretation of the Personality Assessment Inventory (PAI), especially in reproductive medicine and fertility counseling settings. The workshop will address the unique features of the PAI, including an overview of the full scales and subscales. The workshop will review the relevance of the PAI scales to understanding and making decisions about patients seen in reproductive medicine and fertility counseling practices. Several approaches will be reviewed for the detection of positive response distortion and how to interpret profiles provided by defensive or dishonest respondents. Case studies will be presented to illustrate each of the various procedures presented in the workshop.

At the end of this workshop attendees should be able to:

  1. Describe the advantages of the PAI for psychological assessment of individuals in reproductive medicine and fertility counseling settings.
  2. Understand the essential user qualifications and ethical practices of clinical assessment.
  3. List three types of respondent behavior that affect the accuracy of PAI results.
  4. Describe three strategies for evaluating defensiveness of individual respondents.
  5. Follow a sequential strategy for determining the acceptability of PAI profiles.
  6. List three PAI scales that are relevant for understanding strengths and weaknesses in ovum donor and gestational carrier candidates.
